Conversion Rate Calculator

Enter your number of conversions and total visitors, leads, sessions, or clicks for a period to calculate your conversion rate. The formula, every assumption, and intermediate values are shown alongside the result.

Choose what conversions are measured against - visitors, leads, sessions, clicks, or another custom total.

Label only, for the result and downloaded summary - both values below must cover the same period.

Count of completed conversions (purchases, signups, submitted forms, etc.) during the period. Must be 0 or more.

Total number of visitors for the same period as your conversions. Must be greater than 0 and at least as large as conversions.

If you have a goal rate, enter it to see the gap and how many more conversions would close it. Leave blank to skip.

How to use the Conversion Rate Calculator

Use the entered Conversions and selected denominator total to calculate a percentage. Choose Visitors, Leads, Sessions, Clicks, or Custom (other) as the denominator.

The calculation is Conversions ÷ selected denominator × 100. The result also shows the denominator per conversion and the non-converting count. It uses the values you enter; it does not fetch analytics, CRM, or advertising data.

Choose the denominator that matches your data

  • Use Visitors or Sessions for a site-wide rate.
  • Use Leads for a lead-to-customer rate.
  • Use Clicks for an ad or email click-to-conversion rate.
  • Use Custom (other) for another denominator.

Calculate a conversion rate

  1. Select the denominator type and Period. The period is a label for the result and does not filter or convert the data.
  2. Enter conversions and the matching total from the same period and funnel step.
  3. Optionally enter Target conversion rate (%) - optional, then click Calculate conversion rate.
  4. Review the result, then use Copy result or Download result (.txt).

Understand the Results

The result shows the conversion rate, the selected denominator per conversion, the non-converting count, and a table of the entered values and calculations. When Conversions is zero, the denominator-per-conversion statistic is N/A.

If you enter a target, the table always shows the gap as actual rate minus target rate. A warning appears only when the rates differ by more than 0.005 percentage points. Above target, it reports the gap only. Below target, it estimates additional conversions using the current denominator total and rounds that estimate up.

Copy or Download the Result

Copy result copies the generated text summary. Download result (.txt) saves it as a text file. The summary includes the entered figures, result details, and a formula label. The additional-conversions estimate is not always included in this text; it appears in the below-target warning.

Validation and limitations

  • Enter values that parse as finite numbers. Conversions must be 0 or greater, and the selected total must be greater than 0.
  • Conversions cannot be greater than the selected total.
  • The optional target must be between 0 and 100.
  • The number inputs declare step="0.01", but the script does not enforce that increment. Other decimal values can be calculated.
  • Use conversions and the selected total from the same period and denominator definition. The period label does not retrieve or transform records.
  • The calculator performs arithmetic on your entered values. It does not connect to analytics, CRM, or advertising platforms.
  • Decide whether your conversion value represents unique converters or conversion events. The calculator does not enforce one conversion per unit.
  • The result does not account for traffic quality, attribution, statistical significance, or your organization’s definition of a conversion.

Privacy & Security

The calculator logic performs the calculation in your browser using the values you enter. The tool does not fetch analytics, CRM, or advertising data. The local implementation does not establish a broader guarantee about how every page script handles network requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is conversion rate calculated?

Conversion rate is the number of conversions divided by the selected denominator - Visitors, Leads, Sessions, Clicks, or Custom (other) - for the same period, shown as a percentage.

Should I use visitors, leads, sessions, or clicks as the denominator?

Use the option that matches the step you are measuring: Visitors or Sessions for a site-wide rate, Leads for a lead-to-customer rate, Clicks for an ad or email click-to-conversion rate, and Custom (other) for another denominator. The selected denominator defines what the percentage describes.

Why does the tool ask for a target conversion rate?

The target field is optional. If you enter one, the tool compares your actual rate with it and shows the gap. When the actual rate is below target by more than 0.005 percentage points, the warning also gives an upward-rounded estimate of additional conversions at the same denominator total; this is not a separate result field or a forecast.

Does this tool fetch my actual analytics or CRM data?

No. It calculates from the conversions and denominator total you type in. It does not connect to analytics, a CRM, or an advertising platform, and its calculator logic runs in your browser.

Is this a substitute for marketing or business advice?

No. This tool performs transparent arithmetic on the figures you provide. It is not marketing, financial, or business advice, and it does not account for traffic quality, attribution, statistical significance, or how you define a "conversion" in your own business.
