Choose the formatting tool that matches your task
Choose a tool, paste text into its input area, set the visible options, and review the result in the output area. Use Case Converter for letter case, Add Prefix & Suffix for line-level additions, and Indent Text for spaces, tabs, or indentation changes.
- List Maker creates Bullets, Numbered, Roman Numeral, or Checklist output.
- Align Text Columns formats delimiter-separated data; Text Aligner aligns lines or pads around a symbol.
- Text Wrapper breaks text at a chosen column width, while Vertical Text Converter stacks characters or words.
- Markdown Table Formatter normalizes Markdown pipe-table spacing, and Text Formatter lets you build a sequence of actions such as Line Numbers, Prefix, Suffix, or Indentation.
Match the input to the right formatting controls
Open the tool that matches your input and set its controls before reviewing the output.
- In Add Prefix & Suffix, enter Prefix and Suffix. Select Skip empty lines to leave blank or whitespace-only lines unchanged, then select Add Prefix & Suffix.
- In Case Converter, choose UPPER CASE, lower case, Title Case, Sentence case, aLtErNaTiNg, or sArCaStIc.
- In Indent Text, choose Add Indent, Remove Indent, Tabs -> Spaces, Spaces-> Tabs, Hanging Indent, or Smart Auto-Format. The tool also exposes Spaces, Tab character (
\t), Spaces per level, Indent levels, and Skip empty lines where applicable. - In List Maker, choose a list type and, for bullets, select a bullet character. Auto-Nesting (detect indented sub-items) uses indentation in the input to create nested items.
- In Align Text Columns, choose a delimiter such as Comma (,), Tab, Pipe (|), Semicolon (;), Space(s), or Custom. Select an alignment mode, header and trimming options, then choose Spaces or Tabs output.
- In Text Aligner, choose Left, Center, Right, Justify, or Char Padding. The last mode uses Line width, Align by, and Before symbol or After symbol.
- In Text Wrapper, set Column width and choose Soft wrap (word boundary) or Hard wrap (exact character limit). Preserve paragraph breaks and Show visual ruler are additional options.
- In Vertical Text Converter, choose By Character or By Word. Character mode includes Skip spaces, Reverse order, and Keep separate lines as blocks.
- In Markdown Table Formatter, set Minimum column width and optionally select Use compact separator row (---) instead of full-width dashes.
- In Text Formatter, choose Line Numbers, Prefix, Suffix, Indentation, or Prefix & Suffix (Bulk), then select Add Action. Its workspace also includes Save preset, Load, and Clear all.
Format text and copy the result
- Paste or type text in the input area. Where shown, use Upload to load a text file.
- Change the tool's visible options. Several tools update the output as you type or as you change a setting.
- For Add Prefix & Suffix, select Add Prefix & Suffix to apply the entered values. For other tools, use the live output or the tool's visible action controls.
- Review the output, then select Copy or Download where available.
What the local tools do in the browser
The inspected formatting transformations run in browser JavaScript. This page does not establish a category-wide maximum input size, a 10MB limit, or a universal compatibility guarantee. Very large inputs may depend on the resources available to the browser.
Formatting limitations and edge cases
- Use Skip empty lines when prefixes, suffixes, or indentation should not be added to blank lines.
- For column alignment, choose the delimiter that matches the input. Auto (numeric) checks values for numeric alignment, and First row is header changes how the first non-empty row is treated.
- Soft wrap (word boundary) and Hard wrap (exact character limit) produce different line breaks. Choose based on whether words may be moved to the next line.
- List, table, alignment, and vertical conversion results depend on the input lines, delimiters, whitespace, and selected options.
