Fantasy Points Calculator

Build your own scoring-rule table, enter each stat's quantity, and see the point contribution of every stat plus the total. Save your ruleset in this browser or export it as a file for reuse.

Scoring rules

Add a row for every stat you want to score - a name, the points awarded per unit (positive for scoring events, negative for turnovers or penalties), and the quantity recorded. Use "Add stat row" for anything not listed. Nothing is scored unless it has a row here.

Presets are common patterns for reference only, not any specific platform's official rulebook. Applying one asks you to confirm first and replaces the current rows.

Stat name Points per unit Quantity Points

A saved or exported ruleset stores stat names and points-per-unit only (not quantities), so you can reuse the same scoring rules with a new stat line next time.

How to calculate fantasy points with your own rules

Build the scoring-rule table, enter a stat name, points per unit, and quantity for each row, then select Calculate. Each stat contributes quantity × points per unit; the total is the sum of every entered rule. Stats without a row are not scored.

  1. Add or edit a row for each stat you want to score.
  2. Enter the points-per-unit value and quantity.
  3. Select Calculate and check the total and breakdown.

Enter, add, remove, and validate stat rows

Use Add stat row for another scoring event. Enter a name, a numeric points-per-unit value, and a quantity of 0 or more. Points per unit accepts decimals and can be positive or negative. Use negative values for deductions such as turnovers when that matches your rules.

Use the row's Remove stat control to delete it. If you remove every row, the calculator keeps one blank row available. Select Calculate only after each used row is complete. The tool rejects missing values, duplicate stat names, and conflicting duplicates. A conflicting duplicate uses the same name with different points-per-unit values; combine those rows into one.

Use optional presets carefully

The Optional common preset menu includes Standard (non-PPR, offense), Half-PPR (offense), and Full PPR (offense). Choose one and select Apply preset (confirm). After confirmation, it replaces the current stat rows. Review and edit the rows before calculating because these are reference patterns, not a specific platform's official rules.

Calculate and check the result

Calculate displays the total fantasy points, the formula used, and a per-stat breakdown of the stat, quantity, points per unit, and points. Displayed numbers use two decimal places. Select Copy result for a plain-text version or Download result (.txt) to save it as a text file. If copying fails, the tool shows a message asking you to select and copy the result manually.

Save, export, load, and import rulesets

Use Save to this browser to store a named ruleset in browser localStorage. It stores stat names and points-per-unit values, not quantities. Saving requires a ruleset name, at least one named rule, and no duplicate stat names.

Select Load to replace the current rows with a saved ruleset, then enter quantities before calculating. Select Delete to remove a saved ruleset after confirmation. Export ruleset (.json) creates a JSON file containing the ruleset name and rules. Import ruleset (.json) reads a compatible file and asks you to review the imported rules. Invalid or unsupported JSON shows Could not import file - expected JSON exported from this tool.

Reset and known limitations

Reset clears the current rows, hides the result, clears errors, and clears the ruleset name input. It does not delete saved rulesets.

The calculator does not fetch live player stats, box scores, league data, sportsbook data, or player-database data. It does not assume a platform's official scoring system. Its result is mathematical output from the rules and quantities you enter, not betting, lineup, roster, or performance advice.

Privacy and local storage

Calculation runs locally in the browser. Saved rulesets use browser localStorage, while export and import are intentional local file actions. These statements describe the calculator's handling of its values and rulesets; they do not describe every input or submission elsewhere on the page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this calculator use my fantasy platform's official scoring rules?

No. It never assumes a specific platform or league's scoring system. You build the scoring-rule table yourself, or apply one of the optional common presets, which only load after you explicitly confirm. Always check your own league's settings for the exact rules that apply.

Does this tool fetch live player stats?

No. It does not connect to any live scoring feed, sportsbook, or player database. You type in the stat quantities yourself, and the calculator only performs the arithmetic on the numbers and rules you provide.

What counts as a conflicting rule?

A conflict is when the same stat name appears more than once in the rule table with different points-per-unit values, since the calculator cannot tell which value you meant. It stops and shows both values so you can combine the rows into one.

Where are saved rulesets stored?

Saved rulesets are stored locally in your browser (localStorage), not on any server. You can also export a ruleset as a .json file to back it up or move it to another device, and import it back in later.
