What This Tool Does
Use the Word to PDF Converter to turn one or more .docx files into PDF files in your browser. It reconstructs supported document structure and formatting; complex layouts may reflow, so the result is not guaranteed to be pixel-identical to Microsoft Word.
How to Convert Word to PDF
- Upload: Drop one or more
.docxfiles onto the drop zone, or click browse files. - Choose page size and margins: Pick Letter or A4, and Normal, Narrow or Wide margins to match how the document should be laid out on the page.
- Set a page range: Leave Page range (applied per document) blank to keep all pages, or enter something like
1-3, 5. - Review the preview: Check the print-style preview area before converting.
- Merge (optional): Check Merge all documents into a single PDF to combine every uploaded file, in upload order, into one output file.
- PDF/A (optional): Check Add PDF/A archival metadata to use the page's archival-metadata option.
- Convert and download: Conversion starts automatically after upload and whenever a setting changes. Download individual PDFs when ready; the result actions also provide Download all as ZIP and Download merged PDF.
Choose Pages, Size, and Margins
Use Page range (applied per document) to select pages for each uploaded document. The placeholder shows e.g. 1-3, 5 (blank = all pages). Choose Letter or A4 under Page size, then choose Normal, Narrow, or Wide under Margins.
The page does not document how malformed, empty, or out-of-range entries are handled. It publishes no more specific validation or recovery guidance for a range that does not work.
Merging Multiple Documents
Upload several .docx files and select Merge all documents into a single PDF (in upload order) to request one combined PDF. Leave it unchecked when you want separate PDF outputs. The action bar provides Download all as ZIP and Download merged PDF.
PDF/A Archival Export
Select Add PDF/A archival metadata when you want to use the page's archival-metadata option. The local page does not document the exact metadata written or confirm formal PDF/A conformance.
Print-Style Preview
The page provides a print-style preview area for checking the document before conversion. Treat it as a layout check, not a guarantee of pixel-identical output: the FAQ notes that complex layouts may reflow.
Privacy & Security
The page notice says that parsing and PDF generation happen locally in your browser. It also says that documents are not uploaded and nothing is sent to a server. The page does not state account requirements or file-count, page-count, or file-size limits.
Known Limitations and Failure Guidance
The upload markup confirms DOCX input only; support for older .doc files is not shown. The available script is obfuscated, so its user-facing handling of malformed files, unsupported DOCX features, password-protected files, conversion errors, memory exhaustion, and invalid page ranges is not documented well enough to state a definite result.
- Use a modern
.docxfile. Older.docsupport is not confirmed. - If conversion fails, the page does not publish a specific error-recovery procedure. Check the file and options, then try again.
- For password-protected documents and unusually large files, the page does not document the exact handling or practical limits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the PDF look exactly like it would from Microsoft Word?
It will be close, but not pixel-identical. The converter reconstructs your document's structure and formatting on a standard page size rather than replicating Word's own layout engine, so very complex layouts may reflow slightly.
Can I convert older .doc files?
Only modern .docx files are supported. If you have an older .doc file, save it as .docx from Word first, then convert it here.
Can I convert a password-protected document?
The page accepts .docx files, but the available page implementation does not document how password-protected documents are handled.
Is there a page or file size limit?
The page does not state a file-count, page-count, or file-size limit. It confirms only that processing happens locally in the browser.
Can I convert multiple Word documents at once?
Yes. The upload area accepts multiple .docx files. You can download individual PDFs, use Download all as ZIP, or use Download merged PDF when the corresponding controls are available.
