Choose the extractor that matches your file
Extract Tools covers several different jobs, so the right choice depends on both your input and the output you want. Use Archive Extractor when you need selected entries from an archive, Document Content Extractor when you need existing content from a DOCX, PDF, PPTX, or EPUB, and PDF & Image Table Extractor when the useful result is a table reconstructed from a PDF or image.
For image-based PDF pages, use PDF OCR to recognize text or create a searchable PDF. For presentation notes rather than general slide content, use Speaker Notes Extractor.
Separate document extraction, OCR, and table reconstruction
Document Content Extractor is for selecting document structures and content across DOCX, PDF, PPTX, and EPUB files, including items such as paragraphs, headings, tables, lists, slide text, chapters, media, links, and bookmarks. It is the broad document-content choice when you want to inspect what the file already contains.
PDF OCR is for image-based PDF pages. It can process selected pages with controls for language, rotation, and page range, then export recognized text or a searchable PDF. OCR recognizes text; it does not preserve a table's row-and-column structure.
When the important content is a table, choose PDF & Image Table Extractor. It works with digital PDFs, scanned PDFs, screenshots, and images, and reconstructs table rows, columns, headers, and merged cells, using OCR where needed. Review the recognized text or reconstructed cells before relying on the exported result.
Use archive or presentation-specific extraction for targeted content
Archive Extractor previews archive entries and lets you select files using its available search and pattern controls. The selected content is rebuilt as one downloadable ZIP, so use it when you want a subset of an archive rather than separate downloads or archive repair.
Speaker Notes Extractor reads notes from PPTX slides and previews them by slide. You can include slide titles or extracted slide-text context, select the notes you need, and export them as TXT, Markdown, CSV, JSON, or DOCX. It is read-only for the presentation: it does not render slide layouts or edit notes.
Review the extracted content before exporting
- Choose the child tool based on the source file and the structure you need: archive entries, document items, table cells, PDF pages, or presentation notes.
- Load the file and inspect the preview or inspection results. Selection differs by tool, so check the entries, content items, table regions, pages, or slides shown by that interface.
- Select the content to process and review recognized text or reconstructed cells when using OCR or table extraction.
- Choose an available export on the child page. Output formats differ across these tools, so confirm that the selected extractor produces the format needed for your next step.
