How to calculate ROAS
Use the calculator to divide attributed revenue by total advertising spend. It returns ROAS along with revenue minus spend, implied ROI, target gaps, and break-even revenue.
Enter figures for the same period or campaign. The calculator performs the arithmetic locally:
ROAS = Attributed revenue ÷ Total advertising spend
It also calculates revenue minus spend, implied ROI, the gap from an optional target, the related revenue gap, and break-even revenue equal to spend.
Enter your campaign figures
- Select Currency: USD ($), EUR (€), GBP (£), CAD (CA$), AUD (A$), or Other / unspecified. This is a display label; no currency conversion occurs.
- Select Period: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Campaign total, or Custom period. This label does not convert periods.
- Enter Total advertising spend. It must be a number greater than zero.
- Enter Attributed revenue. It must be a number of zero or more.
- Optionally enter Target ROAS - optional. If used, it must be zero or more.
Read and use the results
After you select Calculate ROAS, the result shows ROAS, revenue minus spend, implied ROI, target gap, revenue gap, and break-even revenue. Money values use two decimal places, ROAS uses two, and implied ROI uses one. A ROAS below 1:1 is highlighted.
If you enter a target, the warning appears only when the absolute gap is greater than 0.005 ROAS points. Use Copy result or Download result (.txt) to create a plain-text summary with the calculated values, the ROAS formula, and a calculation note.
Use the ROAS Calculator
- Select Currency and Period.
- Enter Total advertising spend and Attributed revenue for the same period or campaign.
- Optionally enter Target ROAS - optional.
- Click Calculate ROAS.
- Review the result, then use Copy result or Download result (.txt).
- Click Reset to restore USD and Monthly, clear the entered values and messages, and hide the result.
Important limitations
The calculator uses the figures you provide. It does not identify or apply an attribution model or attribution window, verify advertising-platform data, convert currencies or periods, forecast performance, or recommend budgets. ROAS and implied ROI use revenue and advertising spend only; they do not account for costs such as goods, refunds, discounts, fees, or overhead.
Privacy and calculation behavior
The calculator script performs the arithmetic locally from the values you enter. The implementation does not send those figures to an ad platform or calculation service.
Frequently asked questions
How is return on ad spend (ROAS) calculated?
ROAS is Attributed revenue / Total advertising spend for the same period.
What's the difference between ROAS and ROI?
ROAS is revenue divided by spend. Implied ROI is (revenue minus spend) / spend × 100; this tool uses only the figures entered and does not account for other costs.
Why does the tool ask for a target ROAS?
Target ROAS is optional. The calculator compares it with the actual ROAS and shows the gap and related revenue difference; it is not a budget recommendation.
Does this tool fetch my ad account or revenue data?
No. It uses the figures you type in for local calculator arithmetic and does not send them to an ad platform or calculation service.
Is this a substitute for attribution modeling or financial advice?
No. It performs arithmetic on the attributed revenue you provide. It does not apply an attribution model or window and is not financial advice.
