Phone Number Extractor & Standardizer

Paste text to extract phone numbers, choose a region and output format, then copy or download the results.

How to extract phone numbers from text

Paste text into the input area. The tool places detected phone numbers in the read-only output area, one per line, and shows the current total below it.

Use the extractor

  1. Paste text into the input textarea, or select Upload. You can also use the page's drop area when providing a file.
  2. Review the read-only output textarea and the number count beneath it.
  3. Use Copy to copy the newline-separated results, or use Download to save them.

Choose the region and output format

Use the region search field and Region select to provide regional context. Then choose a value in Standardize to:

  • As found
  • E.164 (+1XXXXXXXXXX)
  • (XXX) XXX-XXXX
  • International (+X XXX XXX)
  • XXX-XXX-XXXX
  • XXX.XXX.XXXX
  • Digits only

Unique only is enabled by default. Clear it if you want repeated results to remain in the output.

Review limitations

Detection is pattern-based. Review the output because the tool may include a false positive or miss a number, especially when surrounding text is ambiguous. Regional context affects how numbers are interpreted. E.164 standardization can fail when the country context is unavailable; use As found to review detected values without that normalization.

Privacy and local processing

The tool processes the entered text in the browser with JavaScript. This describes the tool's input processing; the page also loads external analytics scripts, so it does not establish that no page data ever leaves the device.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What phone formats can this tool detect?

The tool detects a range of formats, including US national, dotted, dashed, UK numbers beginning with 0 or +44, and general international numbers with a leading +. The selected region affects interpretation.

What is E.164 format?

E.164 uses a plus sign followed by the country code and subscriber number, without spaces or separators, such as +15558675309.

Is my data safe when I paste it here?

The tool processes its input locally in your browser using JavaScript. The page also loads external analytics scripts, so this statement is limited to the tool's input-processing behavior.

Why would E.164 standardization fail for some numbers?

E.164 needs country-code context. A local number without enough context cannot be assigned a country code reliably, so that entry may be skipped. Choose As found to review detected values without E.164 normalization.
