Choose images and a layout
- Drop in images or click browse files. The drop-zone examples are JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, and BMP; the file picker accepts files matching
image/*. - Select Grid, Masonry, Freeform, or Contact sheet under Layout mode.
- Use the layout controls to arrange the preview, then choose an export format and click Download.
Adjust the layout and image placement
Grid places images in equal-sized cells and paginates when needed. Masonry keeps image proportions in balanced columns and calculates one page height from the images; page numbers and pagination do not apply. Freeform automatically arranges images when selected or added, has no page navigator, and provides Auto-arrange for a fresh automatic layout.
- Choose a Page size preset: A4 portrait, A4 landscape, Letter portrait, Letter landscape, Square, or Instagram square. Choose Custom... to enter Custom size (px) width and height values.
- Adjust Columns, Auto cell height (square), Margin, Spacing, Background, and Image fit rule where those controls apply. Grid and Contact sheet support Fit, Fill, and Crop.
- In Contact sheet mode, Filenames, Frame numbers, and Page numbers are enabled by default. Enable Captions, then enter each caption in the image list. Labels and captions are drawn on the composed output and may be shortened to fit the cell.
- Drag an image in the list to reorder Grid, Masonry, and Contact sheet placement. In Freeform, move an image by dragging it in the preview and resize it by dragging its corner handle; list reordering does not reposition existing Freeform items.
- Use Remove image on an individual image or Reset to clear the current tool state.
Fit, fill, and crop
Each grid or contact-sheet cell can handle images that don't match its aspect ratio in three ways. Fit shrinks the image to fit entirely inside the cell, leaving background showing on the shorter side. Fill stretches the image to exactly match the cell dimensions, which can distort it. Crop scales the image to cover the cell completely and trims the overflow from the center, similar to a typical photo grid.
Export the composed pages
Grid and Contact sheet show multiple pages when the images do not fit. Use the page navigator above the preview to review them. PNG and JPG download only the currently viewed page. PDF exports all computed pages. ZIP exports all pages as PNG files, regardless of the selected standalone export format.
When JPG is selected, use JPG quality from 30% to 100%; it starts at 90%.
Freeform preview and exported output
The Freeform preview can stretch an image to fill its resized box. The canvas export uses Fit behavior instead, so the downloaded image preserves its aspect ratio within that box.
Limitations and local processing
Selected images are processed and exported locally in the browser with object URLs and Canvas. This describes image handling only: the page also loads external analytics and library resources. PDF and ZIP downloads require the externally loaded jsPDF and JSZip libraries; if either is unavailable, the current implementation returns without producing that download.
How do I create and download an image layout?
- Add images and choose a layout mode.
- Adjust the relevant page, layout, label, and placement controls.
- Review additional pages with the page navigator when it appears.
- Choose PNG or JPG for the current page, or PDF or ZIP for all computed pages, then click Download.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a collage and a contact sheet here?
They're the same workspace, just different layout modes. Grid, Masonry, and Freeform are collage-style layouts. Contact sheet is a grid layout with Filenames, Frame numbers, and Page numbers enabled by default; Captions is off until enabled.
Can I reorder my images?
Yes. Drag an image in the list to change Grid, Masonry, and Contact sheet placement. In Freeform, drag the image in the preview; changing the list order does not reposition existing Freeform items.
What happens if I add more images than fit on one page?
Grid and contact-sheet layouts automatically paginate into additional pages sized to your page settings. Use the page navigator above the preview to check each page, then export all pages together as a PDF or ZIP.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
Selected images are read, composited, and exported locally in the browser. The page still loads external analytics and library resources. PDF and ZIP also require jsPDF and JSZip to load.
