How to remove empty lines from text
Enter text in the input area to remove empty lines. The processed text appears in the output area. The option Treat whitespace-only lines as empty is checked by default, so lines containing only whitespace are included in the cleanup while that setting remains enabled.
Use the text cleaner
- Paste text into the input textarea. Its placeholder reads
Paste or Upload text with lines.... - Use Upload to choose a local text file, or drop a supported text file anywhere on the page.
- Review the result in the output textarea.
- Use Copy to copy the result, or use Download to save it as a plain-text file.
Choose how whitespace-only lines are handled
Keep Treat whitespace-only lines as empty checked when lines that contain only whitespace should be treated as empty. When it is unchecked, only lines with no characters at all are removed; whitespace-only lines remain.
Output and processing limits
Uploaded files are read with FileReader and processed locally in the browser. The page does not define a maximum line count or file size, and it does not expose a file-extension allowlist.
Download creates a plain-text file with a page-specific -output.txt filename.
