Compare text in two panels
Enter text in Original and Modified. The page shows “Enter text in either panel to compare.” until at least one panel contains text.
When at least one panel contains text, the comparison appears in side-by-side result panels with Similarity, Added, Removed, and Unchanged summary values.
Choose comparison controls
Choose a Diff level to set the comparison level:
- Word compares the texts at word level.
- Line compares the texts at line level.
- Character compares the texts at character level.
Enable Ignore case when capitalization should not affect the comparison. Enable Ignore extra whitespace when extra spaces should not affect it. In Line mode, Keep lines level shows gaps where lines were added or removed.
Review and copy the results
Review the Original and Modified result panels. The summary values show the displayed Similarity, Added, Removed, and Unchanged results.
Use the Copy control in a result panel to copy that panel’s corresponding Original or Modified result.
