How to use the URL Validator
Use this tool to parse one URL or prepare results for several URLs. It shows the URL parts accepted by the browser parser, including the protocol or scheme, hostname, path, query parameters, and fragment.
- For one URL, open Single URL.
- Enter a value in the single URL input, whose placeholder is
Paste a URL, e.g. https://example.com/path?foo=bar#section. - Review the generated breakdown. Use Copy to copy the available breakdown output.
- For several URLs, open Multiple URLs. Paste them into the textarea labeled
Paste URLs - one per line or comma-separated. - Review the generated multiple-URL results, then use Copy CSV or Download CSV.
What the breakdown shows
For a URL accepted by the parser, inspect the displayed components:
- Protocol or scheme: The URL scheme, such as
http:orhttps:. - Hostname: The host parsed from the URL.
- Path: The path portion after the hostname.
- Query parameters: Values from the query string after
?. - Fragment: The portion after
#, when present.
The implementation also attempts a hostname-based external IP-information lookup. The lookup can fail, so related information may not appear.
Export results for multiple URLs
The Multiple URLs panel generates CSV output from the entered URLs. Select Copy CSV to copy that output or Download CSV to download it. The local page does not document an input-count or URL-length limit.
Validation and lookup limitations
- Empty input does not produce a parsed URL.
- The browser URL parser accepts or rejects the input. The page does not expose a detailed standards-based error category.
- If the entered value has no scheme, the implementation may retry it with
https://prepended. - The hostname-based lookup uses an external request and may return no information when that request fails.
- This tool parses URL structure. It does not confirm redirects, reachability, phishing status, sitemap coverage, duplicate-key detection, or HTTP status codes.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How can I extract query parameters from a URL?
Open Single URL, enter the URL, and read the query parameters in the generated breakdown.
What happens when a URL is invalid or incomplete?
The browser URL parser may reject it. Empty input produces no parsed URL, while a value without a scheme may be retried with https:// prepended.
Does the tool support multiple URLs?
Yes. Open Multiple URLs and paste URLs one per line or comma-separated. Use Copy CSV or Download CSV for the generated results.
Can the parser show percent-encoded values?
The implementation includes percent decoding for displayed parser output. It does not guarantee decoding for every malformed or encoded value.
Does the URL lookup always return IP or network information?
No. The page attempts a hostname-based external lookup. If that request fails, the related information may be unavailable.
