Binary Converter

Convert text to binary or decode binary back to text. Flip individual bits in the interactive grid and watch the letters change in real time.

Input

Converted output

Bit-Flipper

Click any bit to flip it and watch the decoded characters change.

Type something above to see the bits.

Convert text or binary in four steps

Use the controls above to convert text to binary or decode binary to text:

  1. Select Text → Binary or Binary → Text.
  2. Type or paste the value in the left input box. You can also use Drop file or Upload.
  3. Choose Space, Comma, or None from Delimiter.
  4. Read the result in the read-only output box on the right.

Use the converter controls

In Text → Binary mode, the tool formats the binary output using the selected delimiter. In Binary → Text mode, choose the delimiter that matches the binary input before decoding it.

After conversion, use Copy to copy the output or Download to save it. The output box cannot be edited directly.

Choose the matching delimiter when decoding

  • Space separates groups such as 01000001 01000010.
  • Comma separates groups such as 01000001,01000010.
  • None represents one continuous stream of binary digits.

Select the option that matches the input. The converter does not automatically choose between these delimiter formats.

Explore characters with Bit-Flipper

Type up to 32 characters in the Bit-Flipper field, which shows the placeholder Type up to 32 characters.... Each character appears as a row of eight clickable bit buttons.

Click a 0 or 1 to change that bit. The Decoded output updates with the changed character values. Before you enter text, the panel shows Type something above to see the bits.

Encoding and confirmed limitations

The implementation uses JavaScript character-code values. Confirmed examples include A = 01000001, a = 01100001, Space = 00100000, and 0 = 00110000.

Values above 255 can produce binary strings longer than eight bits. The Bit-Flipper displays eight bit buttons per character and accepts up to 32 characters. The page does not specify an unlimited-input guarantee for the main converter.

Browser-side processing

The page reads text files and performs conversion logic in your browser with JavaScript. The supplied page information states that converted data is not uploaded to AllOverTools servers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert text to binary?

Select Text → Binary, type or paste text into the input box, and choose a delimiter. The tool converts each character to its binary character-code value and formats the result with spaces, commas, or no separators.

How do I convert binary back to text?

Select Binary → Text, paste the binary into the input box, and choose the delimiter that matches the input: Space, Comma, or None. The tool groups the input and decodes it to text.

What is the Bit-Flipper?

It is an interactive panel for inspecting and changing bits. Enter up to 32 characters. Each character appears as eight clickable bit buttons, and clicking a bit updates the Decoded output.

What encoding does the tool use?

The tool uses JavaScript character-code values. Common ASCII-range examples produce eight-bit values, such as A = 01000001. Character-code values above 255 can produce more than eight bits; this page does not provide a separate UTF-8 mode.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. The conversion and Bit-Flipper logic runs in the browser with JavaScript, and the supplied page information states that nothing is uploaded to AllOverTools servers.
