How to repeat text
Enter or paste text in the input box. Then follow these steps:
- Use Upload to choose a
.txtfile, or drop a.txtfile anywhere on the page. The file is read into the input. - Set Repeat count, choose Whole document, Per line, or Per paragraph, and select a separator.
- If needed, choose Custom and enter the separator text. In line or paragraph mode, you can also enable Preserve indentation.
- Read the result in the output box. Use Copy or Download to retrieve it.
The output updates automatically when the input, count, scope, separator, custom separator, or indentation setting changes.
Choose the repeat scope
- Whole document: Repeats the entire input as one block.
- Per line: Repeats each line independently, then rejoins the lines with newline characters.
- Per paragraph: Splits text at blank-line patterns, repeats each paragraph independently, then rejoins paragraphs with exactly two newline characters.
The selected separator joins copies inside each repeated unit. The line and paragraph joins described above remain between units.
Set the count and separator
Repeat count accepts values from 1 through 1,000,000. Values below 1 are handled as 1; values above 1,000,000 are capped at the maximum.
- Newline: Joins copies with a newline.
- Space: Joins copies with one space.
- None: Joins copies without a separator.
- Custom: Joins copies with the text entered in the custom separator field.
Preserve indentation
Preserve indentation is available for Per line and Per paragraph, not Whole document. It separates leading spaces or tabs from each unit before repeating it. With Newline, that indentation is applied to every copy. With Space, None, or Custom, it is applied once to the joined result.
Output, files, and limits
- Empty input produces empty output.
- Copy uses the browser clipboard and may depend on clipboard access being available.
- Download creates a text file named
repeated-text.txt. - Upload opens a file picker restricted by the page script to
.txt; dropped files are read as text. - Processing happens in the browser.
Paragraph mode does not preserve the original paragraph-delimiter whitespace exactly. It splits on blank-line patterns and rejoins paragraphs with two newline characters.
Frequently asked questions
Does Text Repeater generate or change any content?
No. It repeats the text you supply instead of generating or rewriting it. In paragraph mode, however, the whitespace used between paragraphs is normalized to two newline characters.
What is the difference between line, paragraph, and whole-document mode?
Whole document repeats the entire input as one block. Per line repeats each line independently and rejoins lines with newline characters. Per paragraph repeats each paragraph separated by blank-line patterns and rejoins paragraphs with two newline characters.
How does indentation preservation work?
In Per line or Per paragraph, it separates leading spaces or tabs before repeating. With Newline, the indentation is reapplied to every copy; with the other separators, it is applied once to the joined result.
