What the image flipper does
Use this tool to mirror an image horizontally, vertically, or in both directions. Horizontal swaps left and right, Vertical swaps top and bottom, and Both (180°) applies both flips. Processing runs in the browser.
Supported files and output choices
The drop zone lists JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, and BMP as input formats. For export, choose Keep original, JPEG, WebP, or PNG. JPEG and WebP outputs are re-encoded.
How to flip an image
- Drop supported images into the drop zone, or click browse files.
- Select a file in the file list. The active file appears in the Editing area.
- Choose Horizontal, Vertical, or Both (180°). Use Reset to clear the current flip settings.
- Choose the flip and output settings; the preview and results update automatically.
- Download the processed results individually or click Download all as ZIP for the batch.
Quality, lossless output, and metadata
Use the Quality percentage slider when the selected output uses quality-based encoding. Lossless output forces PNG and provides a pixel-exact flip. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded, so those outputs are not byte-for-byte lossless.
Metadata is removed by default. Keep metadata (EXIF) - JPEG output only can retain the original EXIF data when the source is a JPEG and the output conditions support JPEG EXIF copying. PNG and WebP output do not retain that stated EXIF behavior.
Batch processing and ZIP export
Load multiple supported images and use the file list to switch between them. Results update automatically with the current settings; use Download all as ZIP when the batch is ready. The page does not document a maximum file count or file size.
Privacy and processing limits
The page states that processing occurs in the browser. It does not document browser-specific limits or how unsupported, unreadable, or failed files are reported.
Image flipper FAQ
What is the difference between flipping and rotating an image?
Flipping mirrors an image across an axis - horizontal flip swaps left and right, vertical flip swaps top and bottom - without changing which way is up. Rotating turns the whole image around a point instead. Text and asymmetric objects usually look wrong or backwards after a flip, which is expected; use a rotator instead if you just need to turn a sideways photo the right way up.
Will flipping my image remove its metadata?
By default, yes - flipping rebuilds the image through the Canvas API, which produces a new file with no embedded metadata. If the source is a JPEG and the output conditions support JPEG EXIF copying, check Keep metadata (EXIF) - JPEG output only to copy the original EXIF data into the JPEG output. PNG and WebP output do not retain that stated EXIF behavior.
Which image formats does the tool support?
The drop zone lists JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, and BMP as supported input formats. Output choices are Keep original, JPEG, WebP, and PNG.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Flipping and exporting all happen locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I flip multiple images at once?
Yes. Load multiple supported images, set the flip and output options, then click Flip all to process the loaded images. Use Download all as ZIP for the batch. The page does not document a maximum file count or file size.
Does flipping reduce image quality?
Lossless output forces PNG and provides a pixel-exact flip. JPEG and WebP outputs are re-encoded, so they are not byte-for-byte lossless.
