Rotate and flip images in the browser
Use the controls above to rotate the active image by 90° left, 90° right, or 180°, set a custom angle, or mirror it with Horizontal or Vertical. The image-processing implementation is presented as local in the browser.
Choose files and the active image
- Drop files into the drop zone or click browse files. The listed input types are JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, and BMP.
- Leave Auto-orient using EXIF rotation data enabled when you want the tool to apply orientation data from the file.
- Use 90° left, 90° right, or 180° for quick turns, or use Custom angle for a rotation from
-180to180degrees. - Select a file in the file list to make it active. The preview and Rotate this image action apply to that file.
Set the rotation and orientation controls
Use Quick rotate for 90° left, 90° right, or 180°. Use Flip with Horizontal or Vertical to mirror the image, and select Reset to clear the current orientation changes.
Under Custom angle, drag the range control or enter a number from -180 to 180 in 1-degree steps. Leave Auto-orient using EXIF rotation data enabled when you want the tool to apply orientation data from the file.
Handle empty corners and output settings
Choose a color under Background for empty corners, or select Transparent for empty areas created by a custom angle.
Lossless output and format settings
Choose Keep original, JPEG, WebP, or PNG under Output format. The Quality control is available for applicable re-encoded output. The preview information bar includes a Metadata value.
Enable Lossless output to force PNG. The control describes the result as pixel-exact for 90° steps; custom-angle transformations should not be treated as universally pixel-exact.
Rotate one image or the full batch
- Select a file in the file list and review it in the preview.
- Processing starts automatically when files or settings change; the preview and status update when the current batch is ready.
- Use Download all as ZIP when batch results are ready.
The local page does not state a maximum number of files, maximum file size, or image-dimension limit.
Limitations and local processing
- Lossless output forces PNG and is specifically pixel-exact for 90° steps.
- Custom-angle output is not established as universally pixel-exact.
- The page presents image processing as local, but it also loads analytics and CDN resources.
- No batch-count, file-size, or image-dimension maximum is stated in the local page files.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some of my photos look sideways or upside down?
Some files store their intended display direction in EXIF rotation data. Enable Auto-orient using EXIF rotation data to apply that orientation before processing the image. This is separate from choosing a manual rotation.
What does lossless output mean here?
Lossless output forces PNG and is pixel-exact for 90-degree steps. Custom-angle transformations use a different resampling process, so the page does not support describing them as universally pixel-exact.
Does this tool keep my photo's metadata, like GPS location or camera info?
The preview information bar shows a Metadata value. The local page does not provide a complete statement about which metadata fields are retained or removed in exported files.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
The image-processing implementation is presented as local in the browser. The page also loads analytics and CDN resources, so this does not establish that no other page requests occur.
Can I rotate multiple images at once?
Yes. Add supported files, set the rotation and output options, and the current settings are applied automatically to the batch. Use Download all as ZIP for the confirmed batch-download action. The page does not state a maximum file count.
