Extract Numbers from Text

Paste text or upload a file, choose the extraction options, and review the values with Count, Sum, Average, Min, and Max.

Extraction options

Embedded numbers are digits stuck directly to letters, like Order IDs: A123, B456, mp3, h2o - these are skipped by default since they're usually part of an identifier, not a value. Turn this on to pull them out anyway.

How to extract numbers from text

Enter text in the input field, use the Upload button, or drop a supported text file onto the input. Extracted values appear in the output field.

  1. Enter text, use the Upload button, or drop a supported text file onto the input.
  2. Set the extraction options below the text fields.
  3. Review the values in the output field.
  4. Use Copy or Download when you are ready to use the result.

Choose the extraction options

Use the checkboxes to describe which values to include and how to format the output:

  • Include decimals — include decimal values such as 3.14.
  • Include negatives — include values with a leading minus sign, such as -45.
  • Allow comma as thousands separator (6,500) — enable comma-separated thousands formatting.
  • Unique only — request one result for each distinct value.
  • One per line — place each extracted value on its own line.
  • Include embedded numbers — include digits attached to letters, such as the digits in A123 or mp3.

Review results and statistics

The output field shows the extracted values and the counter shows the number of results. The statistics row displays Count, Sum, Average, Min, and Max.

Select Copy to copy the output or Download to save it. The page does not identify the download format in the visible interface.

Notes and limitations

Extraction is handled by the page's local script. Decimal, negative, thousands-separator, duplicate, embedded-number, ordering, upload, copy, download, and statistics behavior follows the options and source paths described above.

No maximum text size or performance limit is documented in the inspected files. The page also does not provide enough evidence for an absolute claim about input transmission or storage.

Frequently asked questions

What does Include decimals do?

Use the Include decimals option when the text contains values such as 3.14 or 99.99. The exact extraction result should be checked in the output area.

What does Include negatives do?

Use the Include negatives option when the text contains values preceded by a minus sign, such as -45 or -12.50. Confirm the result in the output and statistics fields.

Does the page confirm that input is sent to a server?

The inspected page does not provide enough implementation evidence to confirm whether input is transmitted or stored. Do not use the page text alone as a privacy guarantee.

Which statistics does the tool show?

The interface shows the fields Count, Sum, Average, Min, and Max beneath the text areas. Their runtime calculation behavior should be checked with the current tool implementation.
