Random Data Generator

Generate cryptographically secure passwords, random strings, numbers, and UUIDs - with a live Entropy Meter and Bulk Mode for up to 1,000 values at once. The Test Data tab adds a deterministic, seeded generator for synthetic test emails, test cards, IPs, MACs, and more - never real identities or usable credentials.

Output updates automatically when a mode or setting changes.

Generated output

Choose a generator mode and set its controls

Choose Password, String, Number, UUID, or Test Data, set the controls for that mode, and review the automatically updated result. Standard modes show output in a read-only text area with Copy and Download actions. Test Data has a separate seeded workflow with CSV or JSON export.

Select the tab that matches the value you need.

  • Password: Set Length from 4 to 128. Choose A-Z Uppercase, a-z Lowercase, 0-9 Digits, or !@#... Symbols. Enable No ambiguous (0, O, I, l, 1) when those characters should be excluded.
  • String: Set Length from 1 to 256, then choose a Character set: Alphanumeric (A-Z a-z 0-9), Lowercase (a-z), Uppercase (A-Z), Digits (0-9), or Hex (0-9 a-f).
  • Number: Enter the Min and Max values for the numeric range.
  • UUID: Use this tab to generate RFC 4122 UUID v4 values.
  • Test Data: Select one or more fields, then use its separate Quantity, Seed, and Format controls. Email and Username are selected initially.

Review, copy, or download the result

  1. Choose Password, String, Number, or UUID.
  2. Adjust the controls shown for that mode.
  3. Set Bulk from 1 to 1,000 if you need multiple values.
  4. The values update automatically in the read-only output area, one per line.
  5. Select Copy to copy the output or Download to save it.

For Password and String modes, the Entropy Meter displays a bit calculation based on the selected character pool and length. It updates as those settings change.

Check Number mode input behavior

Number mode reads Min and Max with base-10 integer parsing. Enter valid values with Min no greater than Max. Empty or non-numeric values, or a reversed range, stop normal generation and replace the output with an error result. Decimal input is reduced to its integer part; the page does not provide a separate decimal-number mode.

Generate Test Data with a seed and export format

  1. Open Test Data. Email and Username are selected initially. Select or clear fields such as Test Card, User-Agent, API Request ID, Reserved Domain, Test URL, IPv4 (doc-safe), IPv6 (doc-safe), MAC (local admin), Timestamp, UUID v4, Coupon Code, Order Number, Invoice Number, Fictional Company, SKU, or Tracking Number (non-real).
  2. Set Quantity from 1 to 1,000, enter a Seed, and choose JSON or CSV in Format.
  3. Changing the selected fields, quantity, seed, or format automatically regenerates the Test Data output.
  4. Select Download to save test-data.json or test-data.csv.

Test Data hides the Entropy Meter and Bulk controls. If no fields are selected, the output is cleared and the counter shows 0 items.

Understand the output and limitations

  • Test Data uses a seeded mulberry32 generator with Math.imul. The same relevant settings can reproduce the same output.
  • The page confirms client-side generation and download behavior. It does not establish that no analytics or other page requests occur, so do not treat it as a complete privacy guarantee.
  • The Entropy Meter shows a calculation. It does not establish crack-time estimates, collision prevention, or suitability for account passwords, API keys, or other security decisions.
  • CSV and JSON export are confirmed for Test Data. Standard modes provide the output area with Copy and Download.
  • Test Data values are synthetic by construction, including reserved domains, documentation IP ranges, locally administered MAC addresses, format-only test cards, and TEST-TRACK- tracking values.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Are the passwords generated here truly random and secure?

The confirmed Password and UUID implementations use the browser's crypto.getRandomValues() source. Test Data is different: it uses seeded mulberry32 generation, so it is deterministic. The page does not define a security standard or guarantee suitability for a particular account or credential.

What does the Entropy Meter measure?

Entropy, measured in bits, represents the theoretical unpredictability of a password. It is calculated as log2(pool_size ^ length). The supplied guidance treats 80+ bits as strong, and the meter updates when length or character settings change.

How does Bulk Mode work?

Use the Bulk slider to set a quantity from 1 to 1,000. Select Generate to produce that many standard-mode values, one per line, then copy or download the list. Test Data uses its own Quantity control instead.

What is the difference between the String and Password modes?

Password mode lets you combine uppercase, lowercase, digits, and symbols and can exclude ambiguous characters. String mode lets you choose one Character set and a length from 1 to 256.

Is any data sent to a server?

The generator confirms client-side generation and download in the page scripts. The page also loads analytics-related assets, so the implementation does not support an absolute claim that there is no server contact, analytics, or logging.

Is the Test Data mode safe to use - does it generate real identities or usable credentials?

No. Test Data mode produces synthetic values such as emails and URLs on reserved domains, documentation-range IP addresses, locally administered MAC addresses, format-only test cards, and TEST-TRACK- tracking values. These outputs are not real identities, live service endpoints, or usable payment or shipping credentials.

What does the Seed field do in Test Data mode?

The Seed value initializes a deterministic pseudo-random generator (mulberry32). The same seed, field selection, and quantity reproduce the same output.
