Clean Tools

Choose a cleaner by input type or outcome: format-specific tools handle CSV/TSV, Excel, JSON, JSONL, and XML, while other tools address rows, blank cells, null markers, inconsistent values, duplicates, dates, addresses, email lists, and phone numbers.

Address Format Standardizer

Normalize supplied address fields into a consistent presentation: map your columns to address roles, choose component order, separators, casing, line breaks, and a regional layout rule, then write normalized fields alongside (or in place of) the originals with incomplete or ambiguous records flagged for review.

CSV & TSV Cleaner

Repair CSV and TSV structure with configurable delimiter, quote, escape, encoding, and line-ending settings; optionally trim, collapse whitespace, lowercase, or uppercase field text, remove empty rows or columns, and review stray-quote warnings before export.

Data Cleaner

Format-aware cleanup entry point that auto-detects CSV, TSV, Excel, JSON, JSONL, XML or YAML, applies safe shared cleanup (whitespace, blank rows/lines, BOM, line endings), shows a before/after preview and change report, exports with normalized extensions (.ndjson to .jsonl, .yml to .yaml, .txt to .csv, and Excel input to .xlsx), and routes you to the right format- or domain-specific workspace for advanced controls.

Date Format Standardizer

Detect common date formats in a selected column and convert them to one of four output formats: ISO 8601, US style, EU style, or long form. Flags values that are ambiguous or unparseable for review. Normalizes representation only - it does not validate whether a date is logically valid beyond what's needed to parse it.

Email List Cleaner

Clean a list of email addresses: normalize whitespace and casing, remove exact duplicates, and separate malformed entries out for review, with CSV/TXT export of clean, duplicate, and malformed lists.

Excel Cleaner

Clean selected sheets in Excel workbooks by trimming text whitespace, repairing listed import noise, removing eligible blank or separator rows and columns, and previewing cleaned output per sheet.

Fill Blank Cells

Fill blank cells in selected table columns using an explicit rule you choose - constant value, previous/next row, group value, sequence, or formula - then review the 200-row preview and change log before export.

JSON Cleaner

Clean noisy but valid JSON: trim string values, remove null or empty values you choose, sort object keys, deduplicate array items, and optionally strip JSONC-style comments, with a before/after preview.

{"name":" Alice ","x":null}
{"name":"Alice"}
null removed, keys sorted

JSONL Cleaner

Clean JSON Lines files: remove invalid or blank records, trim string values, deduplicate by full line or a selected key, and export a valid JSONL file with a discard report.

{"id":1,"name":" Alice "}

{"id":1,"name":"Alice"}

Normalize Null Values

Standardize inconsistent missing-value markers - blank, NULL, N/A, NA, unknown, dash, and more - into one chosen representation, with per-column overrides and a preview before export.

Phone Number List Cleaner

Clean a list of phone numbers: pick a default country or require explicit + prefixes, normalize whitespace, punctuation, trunk prefixes, and extensions under a visible rule set, then output E.164, national, or display format with ambiguous records flagged for review.

Remove Duplicate Rows from CSV, Excel, JSON & Tables

Remove duplicate records from CSV, Excel, JSON, and pasted tables by full-row or key-column matching. Choose keep-first, keep-last, or manual review, preview duplicate groups before export, and download retained-versus-removed records with original row references.

Value Clusterer & Standardizer

Cluster inconsistent text values within a column - typos, casing, abbreviations - and standardize them to an approved canonical value. Nothing is replaced without your explicit approval.

XML Cleaner

Clean valid XML by normalizing selected whitespace and optionally removing comments or empty elements. Namespace and attribute nodes are not targeted, but enabled cleanup options can change the serialized output and XML structure.

Choose a cleaner by data type or cleanup task

Clean Tools covers several different kinds of cleanup, so the best starting point depends on both your input and the result you need. Use a format-specific cleaner when the file structure is the problem: CSV & TSV Cleaner, Excel Cleaner, JSON Cleaner, JSONL Cleaner, or XML Cleaner.

For a broader, format-aware starting point, Data Cleaner handles shared cleanup and points you toward more focused workspaces. The remaining tools focus on a particular record, field, value, or data domain rather than every possible input format.

Match the tool to the cleanup outcome

Choose a field-level tool when the values need a defined rule. Fill Blank Cells supplies selected empty cells using a rule you choose, while Normalize Null Values turns different missing-value markers into one selected representation. For inconsistent text values, Value Clusterer & Standardizer groups possible matches and lets you approve a canonical value before replacement.

Use Remove Duplicate Rows when repeated records are the issue. For domain-specific data, choose Email List Cleaner, Phone Number List Cleaner, Address Format Standardizer, or Date Format Standardizer according to the field being normalized. These tools expose different controls, so do not assume that a rule available for one data type applies to another.

A practical cleanup workflow

  1. Identify the input structure and open the matching format cleaner, or start with Data Cleaner if you need a broader format-aware entry point.
  2. Choose the focused operation that matches the problem: missing cells, null markers, duplicate rows, inconsistent values, or a specific domain such as dates or contact details.
  3. Use the visible preview, report, or review controls to inspect the proposed changes. A dataset that needs several kinds of cleanup may require separate tools; there is no automatic chaining between these category pages.
  4. Export or continue with the result only after checking that the selected rules preserve the structure and meaning you need.

Review results before using the cleaned data

Cleanup rules can expose uncertain cases rather than settle every interpretation for you. Check the review output from Data Cleaner and inspect ambiguous or unparseable values in Date Format Standardizer and Address Format Standardizer. For grouped text values, review the proposed matches in Value Clusterer & Standardizer before approving replacements.

Finally, compare the result with the intended file format, column meanings, and downstream requirements. A format-cleaning change can be structurally correct while a domain-specific value still needs a human decision.
